- The Central Event for the 14th edition of the European Robotics Week, ERW2024, promoted by the euRobotics association will be held in Zaragoza, at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón, ITA, in collaboration with the Spanish Robotics Technology Platform HispaRob.
- The euRobotics event, which will take place on 13th and 14th of November, will include both institutional events, with representatives from government, industry, research centres and academia, and activities open to the general public, with the aim of bringing robotics closer to society as a whole.
- In addition, HispaRob will hold its Event on Friday 15th of November, which will focus on talks, round tables, free practical workshops and much more.
HispaRob, through its Educational Robotics Thematic Group, coordinates and promotes in Spain the celebration of the European Robotics Week, ERW, which is held at the initiative of the European robotics association euRobotics.
ERW2024 will take place from 15-24 November 2024. Every year, activities are organised and held all over Europe, which can be found on the ERW map on the official euRobotics website.
In the context of this leading European event, the group organises the annual ERW Conference, its most important meeting with companies and professionals from the sector, administrations and the teaching community, where relevant aspects of education in robotics, Artificial Intelligence, computational thinking and STEAM are discussed and shared.
In its next edition, ERW2024, this initiative will focus on robotics, ethics and Artificial Intelligence, the role of education in training students for the new technological professions of the future, and the role of women and girls in STEAM disciplines, among others.
At this crucial moment, we are working on the organisation of the ERW2024 Conference ‘Robotics and Artificial Intelligence’, which thanks to the collaboration with the Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (ITA) will be held at their facilities on Friday 15 November 2024, from 9:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m.
The conference will open with an institutional welcome ceremony, which will be followed by the inaugural conference given by Concha Monje, a researcher specialising in robotics and Professor at the Carlos III University of Madrid, who will give a talk on the challenges and advances in Soft Robotics.
In addition, during this edition we will be holding three round tables, of which you can see a preview of the theme and we will soon be able to give you more details:
- Creativity as an excuse to awaken scientific-technological vocations.
- The responsibility of the media in science and technology dissemination
- From the Classroom to Industry
We will also have a space in different areas of the Technological Institute, where practical workshops will be offered simultaneously by the entities of the Educational Robotics Group of HispaRob, which will be accompanied by good practices carried out in the classroom by leading teachers in robotics and STEAM.
The conference will close with a small ceremony where the Seal of Quality in educational robotics will be presented to the entities that have been awarded this year.
CONSULT THE PROVISIONAL PROGRAMME OF THE HISPAROB CONFERENCE
In addition, HispaRob is preparing other activities in which several partners and thematic groups of the platform will actively participate, with robotics as the central theme. Therefore, we will have the most important companies, technology centers, institutes and universities that are part of the association. We recommend that you keep an eye on our distribution channels, where we will soon announce all the latest news.
Following our main event and framed within this European Robotics Week, HispaRob will participate for the third consecutive year in the next edition of SIMO Education, to be held from 19th to 21st of November at IFEMA – Madrid.
HispaRob’s Educational Robotics Group will have a stand located in Hall 5 of the fair, where workshops will be held in the mornings and afternoons, as well as a programme of conferences yet to be determined.
In addition to the activities of the ERW2024 Day, we remind you that the European Robotics Week is a broad initiative, in which there are other ways to participate.
Any entity or person interested in the dissemination of robotics (companies, universities, associations, technology centres, teachers, etc.) can organise an activity and register it on the map of euRobotics using the form provided. It can be a visit to a technology company, a classroom activity, an action at the classroom activity, a street action…
For possible inspiration, HispaRob prepares a calendar with thematic proposals for each day, which will soon be available for consultation.
A clear example of the multidisciplinary nature of these activities is the event to be held on 25 September at the University Hospital of Getafe, organised by the Tekniker Technology Centre and the HispaRob medical robotics and assistance group under the title “Robotic technologies for health“. During the conference, the vision, knowledge and technology of universities, technology centres, companies and other players in the health ecosystem in the fields of robotics, rehabilitation sciences, kinesiology, social sciences, ageing, care and e-health (ICT) will be shared through various round tables, in order to provide the Spanish fabric with an interdisciplinary research and development ecosystem that is competitive at European level.
This event is also possible thanks to the support of ViewSonic, Iberdrola, PAL Robotics and Edelvives who have sponsored our event.
