Defence and Security Robotics

INFORMATION

Interest in security is increasing. Although Europe and Spain have never been so wealthy, it is also true that we are facing renewed threats such as terrorism, organised crime and, increasingly, natural disasters.

Making Europe a safe and strong region for its citizens and infrastructure has become a priority in the EU’s R&D&I framework.

The dynamic nature of the defence and security environment implies many new challenges such as: strengthening fundamental human rights, including privacy; or planning for preparedness and response to potential threats and real crisis situations.

Interactions between different actors in the defence and security scenario are essential to enhance this activity. We are talking specifically about interactions between companies in the defence and security industry, technology companies, universities and R&D&I centres, and potentially their users, which would benefit citizens, critical infrastructures, SMEs and industry.

Human-Robot Collaboration is a key factor in the field of industrial robotics for the development of the factories of the future and advance towards the Industry 4.0 paradigm.

In this last training session of the Sharework project we will introduce some basic concepts of the implementation of Human-Robot Collaborative systems and the advantages of its wide deployment into the industry. In addition, four use cases implemented in four companies in the transport, capital goods and metal sector will be presented, highlighting the potential of collaborative robotics in operators’ ergonomics and wellbeing, as well as the benefits from the production side.
