This summer our humanoid social robot ARI, took part once again at the annual Cruïlla Festival in Barcelona. From 5th to 8th July, ARI showcased its extraordinary abilities as a fortune teller, captivating festival-goers and providing unique insights into their personalities and what the future may hold for them.
Cruïlla is an annual music festival that stands out with its diverse and inclusive lineup that blends different music styles, in fact, its very name, “Cruïlla” means “crossroads” in Catalan.
This summer festival in Barcelona defies traditional musical labels, presenting an eclectic mix of ska, pop, hip-hop, reggae, folk, rock, world music, electronic, and American rock.
In addition to music, Cruïlla Festival offers various spaces and activities, including games, captivating Castellers performances, and food trucks.
ARI as a fortune teller: discovering what the future holds
At Cruïlla, ARI took on the role of a fortune teller, engaging festival-goers in an exciting and personalised experience. Using QR codes embedded in the festival bracelets, ARI offered a warm welcome and invited attendees to learn more about their future with the sentence, “Relax your mind and let yourself go. I am about to connect with your deepest feelings to describe your future.”
By touching hands and looking into the eyes of participants, ARI provided horoscope readings and offered a preview of how the day at the festival would unfold. Additionally, ARI provided unique insights into attendees’ personalities, such as place of residence, type of entrance, time spent in the festival, and much more. All this together with statements like – “Since this will be your only day at the Cruïlla Festival 2023, I know you’re fully embracing every moment and love discovering new music constantly.”
Finally, ARI asked about each individual’s favorite artist of the night, sharing interesting details and information about the chosen artist. For example, for the selection of Cruz Cafuné ARI would say “Cruz Cafuné… good choice! This Canarian artist’s concert will bring you luck and good vibes for the whole summer.” for The Offspring “The Offspring…of course, the big headliner! Their concert will be a unique event, so enjoy it to the end!”
