PAL Robotics explores embodied AI and the evolution of social robotics at IROS 2025

At the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2025) in Hangzhou, PAL Robotics joined the global discussion on embodied AI and human-robot interaction, presenting how their platforms advance collaboration, perception and adaptability in real-world environments.

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embodied in physical systems, robotics is evolving beyond automation toward true cooperation. PAL Robotics’ research focuses on developing robots that perceive, interpret, and react to human behavior, understanding gestures, movement, speech and intent. Through continuous learning and real-time adaptation, the company’s robots are designed to collaborate intuitively, offering support across healthcare, research and industry.

One of the highlights of PAL Robotics’ participation was TIAGo Head, a platform that brings a friendly face to social robotics. With 25 predefined facial expressions, multilingual conversational capabilities and advanced perception capabilities, TIAGo Head demonstrates how embodied AI can make human-robot interaction more natural, expressive and meaningful.

Embodied AI defines systems where perception, cognition, and action are connected through experience, and they are the foundation of PAL Robotics’ work. Their platforms learn by doing, combining machine learning with advanced control and perception software to refine their understanding of environments, objects and people.

PAL Robotics’ presence at IROS 2025 reflected its ongoing commitment to bringing AI closer to people. As embodied intelligence advances, the boundaries between

digital and physical collaboration continue to blur, opening new opportunities for assistance, research and innovation.
