La robótica es un sector transversal, pues tiene aplicaciones en prácticamente todos los ámbitos económicos y sociales (salud, sector agroalimentario, sector medioambiental, sector energético, transporte, explotación de recursos naturales, sociedad digital, seguridad y defensa, etc.)

Sin ánimo de ser exahustivos, podemos distinguir algunos ámbitos específicos en los cuales los miembros de HispaRob se organizan para trabajar juntos a través de Grupos Temáticos, dependiendo de sus intereses y su orientación empresarial o de investigación.
